Successful Writing Retreat [12.12.24]
HABIT PhD Students Work Interdisciplinarily at Federsee
The second self-organised writing retreat of the HABIT PhD students took place from 9 to 13 December at the research station in Bad Buchau at Lake Federsee. Following the success of a trial retreat in mid-October, another retreat was quickly planned for the beginning of December. This initiative was driven by the motivation of the doctoral students to create a productive working environment that promotes intensive writing, interdisciplinary exchange and joint progress on each individual project.
Organised by and for the PhD students, the retreat provided a full week of focused collaboration during which participants made progress on their dissertation topics and scientific publications. The exchange of methods and ideas helped to promote new perspectives and to address challenges from different angles.
For this second retreat, the format was expanded to include other doctoral students from the University of Hohenheim and the HfWU. This not only strengthened the interdisciplinary nature of the retreat, but also increased the networking opportunities within and between the universities.
For us, one thing is certain: We want to continue these writing retreats in the future - they provide an outstanding opportunity to make progress together and to enrich the doctoral experience through collaboration and exchange.
