Lena Crnjac

Lena Crnjac is a scholarship holder in the doctoral program "Leverage for Enhancing Biodiversity in Agricultural Landscapes (HABIT)," a joint initiative by the University of Hohenheim and the Nürtingen-Geislingen University of Applied Sciences (HfWU). In her doctoral research, she investigates the spatial distribution of biodiversity-promoting measures in the Stuttgart metropolitan area and their impacts on cultural ecosystem services such as recreation and landscape aesthetics in peri-urban areas.
The aim of her work is to develop landscape models under various scenarios. These scenarios are based on surveys and experiments conducted with the local population and take into account economic, environmental, and nature policy levels, as well as agricultural and operational aspects. Positive and negative effects, synergies, and potential recommendations for biodiversity-promoting measures are identified and analyzed in the process.
